Sony Ericsson is nowadays a well known cell phone manufacturer that has come up with many interesting phone designs and features. Among these designs we can consider the Sony Ericsson W518a that offers quality entertainment features, an excellent display and a number of features that make sure you won’t get bored using your device.

The Walkman W518a was released in the same time as the Cyber-shot C905a and even if it comes with a generous number of entertainment features it’s still not a high-end device like its release partner. However, you will be able to enjoy stereo Bluetooth, GPS capabilities, third-party apps and a budget-friendly price.
In terms of design this phone is similar to the Sony Ericsson W980, because it follows the same flip phone design, it’s covered in the same black paint and comes with the same circular music controls that can be found in the proximity of the external display. However, there are also some differences worth mentioning. First of all, the external display is smaller and is able to offer only monochrome resolution, so only basic details can be displayed. In addition the font size is rather on the small side and is not changeable, so that might prove uncomfortable for many users.

This phone that measures 3.7 x 2 x 0.46 inches and weighs 3.5 ounces will also be a victim or smudges and fingerprints. The only plus is that its cover feels nice in the hand of a user and allows the easy removal of the battery cover. When you flip open the phone you will notice the main screen that measures 2.25 inches, offers a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and is able to support 262,144 colors. The keypad isn’t that bad either, but it doesn’t provide a high speed for texting and dialing. In addition, no 3.5mm headphone jack is available and to access the slot for the Memory Stick you need to remove the battery.
Other useful features are the 1000-contact book that allows the storage of many details for each contact, the PC syncing capability, the file manager, the Web-based POP3 e-mail and the Bluetooth feature. You will also find exciting the many apps that Sony Ericsson decided to include. I can mention Facebook, Mobile Banking, MobiTV, YellowPages Mobile and WikiMobile. Also include is a Walkman player that comes with a wide variety of features including stereo widening, podcasts, the ability to put together playlists, the shuffle and loop mode and many more. Also available is an XM Radio app and an FM radio.
